Schreiber's holograms are created using traditional laser-based techniques—true "wave-front reconstruction" processes that embed patterns of light within glass. His ongoing "Orders of Light" series contains no reference image; they are recordings of divided light itself, capturing the color gradients and spatial depth that emerge when laser beams are split and recombined. Other works, like the "Bowie" series begun after David Bowie's death, use deliberate interference—the artist's hand disrupting the holographic process—to produce ghostly cancellations of light. Each piece celebrates a technology whose workings remain, by Schreiber's own admission, partly mysterious. Schreiber will create a series of holograms for MODE.
