Pneuhaus

Multimedia Artist

Pneuhaus is a Rhode Island-based art and design collective founded in 2014 by Matt Muller, Augie Lehrecke, and Levi Bedall—former furniture design students at the Rhode Island School of Design. Working with light, fabric, and air, the collective creates large-scale experiential installations designed to incite curiosity and wonder. Their work has been shown at festivals and institutions worldwide, exploring fundamental properties of color, space, and light through soft, transportable architecture.

Compound Camera

"Compound Camera" is a 20-foot inflatable dome composed of 109 hexagonal pinhole cameras, each projecting a live, inverted image of the surrounding environment onto the translucent interior. The effect is likened to standing inside the eye of a fly—a tessellated, fragmented panorama stitched together from slightly different viewpoints. Visitors can push against the soft fabric walls to adjust focal range and distort the images, engaging directly with the mechanics of vision. Fully analog and without digital equipment, the work offers a tactile experience of light, optics, and perception.
