Folding Light

Folding Light is an immersive sculpture that visualizes the phenomena of intersecting sound waves through reflected light. This installation invites viewers to explore the tangible manifestations of the invisible waves that shape our reality. Centered on a 5ft wide, near-parabolic mirrored ring, the piece creates a self-intersecting form suspended in mid-air. Its curved surface reflects light into an ethereal, "swallow’s tail" shape, while a simultaneous sound field generates interference patterns that align with the light.
